One key question in China today is how to protect the farmers' farmland? At present there is a danger of large-scale enclosure of farmland becoming an acute issue and, with China's continuing development, land related disputes being further exacerbated.

During the lecture Professor Dong Zhengha will discuss the current issue on is the solution to confer peasant families with perpetual rights under the Constitution? What would the impact of such a policy be and is there a way ahead which will treat individuals fairly and address the conflicting demands?
