Chinese Language Summer Courses at the Confucius Institute for Scotland

This summer the Confucius Institute for Scotland is offering both Day and Evening classes from 28 June to 30 July 2021. Their diverse programme of evening and day time classes aims to give a wide array of opportunities to start and learn Chinese! In addition to their usual language programme, they will offer five weeks of intensive HSK revision and practice classes. These are ideal for people who are planning to take HSK levels 3 exams this year. Learners will have a total of 12.5 hours led by a teacher over the five week period. Each course is composed of three parts – mock tests, revision, and practice.

REMOTE LEARNING: ZOOM

All summer classes will be delivered remotely using the online platform Zoom.

 5-week Calligraphy classes from 30 June

Chinese calligraphy is one of the earliest and most important visual art form in China. Explore Chinese soft brush and ink techniques and learn Chinese calligraphy in regular scripts (kaishu) in this five weeks short course. This course is suitable for both beginners and advanced students.

 5-week Brush Painting classes from 1 July

Landscape, Shan Shui, literally translated as ‘mountain and water’, is one of the most popular subjects in Chinese painting. Explore Chinese soft brush and ink techniques and the world of mountain and water painting in this five weeks short course. This course is suitable for both beginners and advanced students.

All of their courses will be delivered digitally via Zoom.
