INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION WEEK 16-20 NOVEMBER

The theme of IEW this year is "my international journey" and how to get you and your pupils started on that international journey. There is a homework challenge for pupils, a passport to fill in and send to your partner schools etc., and a link to a new project we are involved with that encourages secondary teachers to share vlogs made by students on their year abroad to inspire younger pupils to start on their own international journey.

FIVEFILMS4FREEDOM - THE WORLD'S FIRST GLOBAL, DIGITAL LGBT FILM FESTIVAL

Last year the British Council was involved with an initiative called Five Films for freedom

We developed a resource pack

for students using a couple of the films from the festival

In advance of the festival next year we would like to make a film in a UK secondary school showing some young people watching the films and talking about some of the issues they raise.  We would then plan to use this as part of our resource for schools around the film festival - as the festival films are only available for a limited time online.  If you think your school and pupils might be interested, please get in touch with me at vicky.gough@britishcouncil.org.  We would hope to make the film this term.
