CANCELLED - SCA: “Reviving an imperial and classical imaginary of China’s authentic cultural past: the Hanfu movement and young adults in China”

“Reviving an imperial and classical imaginary of China’s authentic cultural past: the Hanfu movement and young adults in China”

Speaker: Dr Andrew Law, Senior Lecturer in Town Planning, Newcastle University

“Unfortunately, our planned Zoom talk this coming Tuesday, the 14th, has had to be cancelled. We hope Dr Andrew Law will be available in the coming year to speak to us about the Hanfu movement in China.

Our first meeting in 2022, on Tuesday, 11 January, will also be held on Zoom, with a talk by Roy Peachey. He is the author of two novels relating to China: Between Darkness and Light, about the Chinese labour corps in World War I (1919); and The Race, about two runners, 70 years apart, the earlier being Eric Liddell.

Meanwhile, the SCA National Committee wish you all a peaceful and happy Christmas, avoiding Omicron or any other variants of the Covid virus.”
