Gleneagles 2012

Guests of Honour:

  • Mr Michael Russell MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning
  • Lord Wilson of Tillyorn KT GCMG FRSE
  • Mr Li Ruiyou, Consul General of the PR of China in Edinburgh

Objectives:The objectives of the SCEN China Youth Summit at Gleneagles are to bring together young people to experience Gleneagles in its international context (the G8 Summit was held here in 2005) and to promote the importance of learning about China and learning Chinese, and linking Scottish and Chinese education, culture and business.

There will be 5 minute presentations in the Gleneagles Suite, by senior phase students and young professionals, and discussion on the themes relating to young people in Scotland and in China:

  • Morning Session:Global Learning
  • Afternoon Session:Global Challenges and the Way Ahead

Lunch will be served in the Strathearn Restaurant.

Leaders in China education, including Directors of Confucius Institutes and Headteachers of Schools, will discuss the creation of aChina Learning Communityin Scotland.
