The Hopkins-Nanjing Center Washington Office would like you to know about opportunities for students to earn a graduate certificate or master’s degree in China, bring their Chinese language skills to the next level, and gain a multidisciplinary foundation in international affairs and China studies at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center, an academic partnership between the Johns Hopkins University and Nanjing University. With this advanced bilingual training, Hopkins-Nanjing Center graduates are uniquely poised to understand diverse facets of China’s commercial, academic, economic, and political relationships with the world. Students also have the option to continue their studies at Johns Hopkins SAIS campuses in Bologna, Italy and Washington, DC.
Dedicated to supporting students, we offer guaranteed scholarships for all students. The Hopkins-Nanjing Center is a multicultural community with students from around the globe, and we are pleased to offer a full-tuition International Student Scholarship for a select number of international (non-US) or dual citizen students. Our application deadline is November 1 for early notification and February 1 for general admission.
Students with Chinese proficiency at the intermediate to advanced level are ideal candidates. The Hopkins-Nanjing Center was founded in 1986 as a multicultural, bilingual educational collaboration between the Johns Hopkins University and Nanjing University. Students study Sino-global relations in a supportive bilingual community with a deep commitment to open academic inquiry. American and other international students take most coursework taught in Chinese, while studying and living alongside their Chinese peers. Students earn a master’s degree or a graduate certificate while gaining the language and professional skills needed for today’s global workforce.
