Contemporary Chinese Fashion Designers & Their Design Philosophy

It is our great pleasure to invite you to a special guest lecture by Dr Vera Bai. Dr Bai is a graduate form Hong Kong Polytechnic University where she achieved her MA and PhD in the Institute of Textiles and Clothing. She is a lecturer in fashion design in Shanghai International College of Fashion, Donghua University. Prior to joining one of China's leading Fashion Colleges, she worked in the Hong Kong fashion industry for two years before researching this topic. She is a member of the the Textile Institute (UK).
Dr Bai enjoys working in cross-disciplinary way combining fashion design, textile design, wearable electronics and interactive design. Her work is part of the permanent collection in the China Silk Museum. Her talk which is entitled 'Contemporary Chinese Fashion Designers & Their Design Philosophy' will take place in the Project Room, 50 George Square, EH8 9LH on Wednesday 14 June from 6pm. The talk will be followed by a Q&A and a networking drinks reception.
